Discover the Surroundings

There are many possibilities for discovering the east coast and the heartland during day trips.

In less than an hour from the villa, you can reach the water palaces of Ujung and Tirta Gangga, the picturesque sandy bay of Virgin Beach or the bustling market of Amlapura. The famous temple Pura Besakih or the village Tenganan with its 'ancient Balinese' as well as coffee, tea and clove plantations are only a little more than an hour away.

Speed boat connections to the neighbouring islands Lombok and the three Gilis run daily from Amed. However, we recommend at least one overnight stay in order to relish the legendary beaches. For those with more introspective inclinations, there is the option of joining a fisherman for fishing in an outrigger boat, watching dolphins or simply enjoy the sunrise or sunset over the ocean.

Wayan gives our guests impressive trekking tours in the hilly hinterlands of the villa. He can tell you a lot about the flora, fauna and life of the hill people in this secluded and craggy landscape.

For particularly sporty guests, climbing up the still active volcano Gunung Agung (3,100 m) represents a proverbial highlight of any Bali vacation! You will be picked up around midnight from the villa and begin the climb approx. an hour later. Following a five-hour hike, you will reach the edge of the crater just in time for the sunrise.
